Bending is a manufacturing process that produces a V-shape, U-shape, or channel shape along a straight axis in sheet metal. A bending operation is employed to fabricate parts such as braces, brackets, supports, hinges, angles, frames, channel and other non- symmetrical sheet metal parts which are used in automobiles, aircrafts, ships and various other consumer products. Commonly used equipment include box and pan brakes, brake presses, and other specialized machine presses.
